Thank you NIW team for all that you do!!

I write this review as the wife of someone with c (common variable immunodeficiency.) For the first time ever, I feel like my husband is getting the level of care that he needs and deserves. Dr Sexton dives deep, and thinks critically and creatively about what is going on, instead of treating symptoms while dismissing the cause. The NIW team has been such a gift to us! My husband was diagnosed with CVID 12 years ago. For the last 5 years, we’ve discussed going to see a functional medicine practice to see if more couldn’t be done to improve his health. Although his acquaintances wouldn’t know it, he just wasn’t feeling well: constantly getting sinus infections, having to take a lot of antibiotics, and experiencing brain fog, stomach aches, and back pain. His doctors kind of shrugged their shoulders at this. My husband was being seen by some of the best doctors at Northwestern, so he wasn’t yet convinced. Additionally functional medicine is not covered by insurance, so it was always a financial question for us. He just celebrated his 40th birthday and it was kind of a wake up call – did he want to continue to live this way? He finally pulled the trigger last fall and decided to consult with Lisa and Dr. Clint. I’m happy to say that 5 months into committing to their process, their testing, and diet protocols, my husband is recovering on many levels. His stomach aches have gone away, his energy is way up, and he has been happier and more hopeful than I’ve seen him in years. The changes in diet and lifestyle have not always been easy but the improvements so far have been worth every penny! We’re so grateful to NIW’s rockstar team. I’m so impressed with their optimism, professionalism, intelligence and thoroughness throughout this journey. I would recommend taking that first step and giving them a call to anyone who is considering it. And if you are the spouse of a patient, I highly recommend making time to attend the first several appointments together. It has been helpful for both of us to understand what is going on, get to know the staff, and learn how I can support him during this important journey. We both love visiting their office and interfacing with the staff. I’m optimistic about the years ahead and continued improvements to come for him. Thank you NIW team for all that you do!!
